Instant messaging app, WhatsApp is reportedly working on new tools for its Android as well as desktop versions. The WhatsApp app is said to be introducing new drawing tools and new pencil tools in a future update for its Android users while the Desktop version will be receiving new chat bubble colours. WhatsApp desktop version will also get a new dark blue colour which will be only visible while using the dark theme mode.
As per a report shared by app update tracker WABetaInfo, WhatsApp’s new drawing tools will allow users to add new pencils to draw on images and videos in the future update. As of now WhatsApp has a single pencil to draw. However, the future update will get two new pencils – one thinner and one thicker than the existing pencil.
The report also mentioned that the app is also working on a blur image tool. The new features are expected to be rolled out in WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.3.5 update. The portal mentioned that all these features are under development and hence, there is no exact date for the release to beta testers.

WABetaInfo, in another report mentioned that the instant messaging app is bringing new colour to its Windows and macOS apps in its WhatsApp beta for Desktop 2.2201.2.0 update. While the new colour scheme will be visible in the dark theme, the chat bubbles are expected to be greener compared to the existing colour. The new update is also likely to bring colour changes to other elements of the app such as the chat bar and background colour which reportedly have a blue tinge.
