In the middle of a hurricane, new friends come together and play a murder mystery party game, but when the bodies start dropping, the party is over and the fingers point and begin to blame. In the vein of Clue and Knives Out comes A24's dark comedy, Bodies Bodies Bodies, and a new trailer for the film has arrived.
Helmed by actress/director Halina Reijn and written by newcomer Sarah DeLappe, the film stars Oscar nominee Maria Bakalova (Borat), Amandla Stenberg (Hunger Games, The Hate U Give), Pete Davidson with his first post-SNL project, Lee Pace, Connor O'Malley (Detroiters, I Think You Should Leave), Myha'la Herrold (Modern Love), Rachel Sennott (High Maintenance), and Chase Sui Wonders (On The Rocks).
The trailer instantly dives into this Venn Diagram of Clue and HBO's Euphoria, with the murders being graphic, but the humor sprinkled still doesn't take you out of it.
The title comes from a commonly played Improv Game called Body Body, also sometimes called Murder In The Dark, where players run around in a dark room. At the same time, the murderer «kills» players by tapping them, hoping to get away with killing the entire group. Early reviews have been pretty positive so far, with a Rotten Tomatoes score of 96 so far.
Bodies Bodies Bodies hits theaters on August 5.
