Amazon Prime Video has released an official trailer for Season 2 of The Wilds. The drama returns to the streaming service with eight new episodes on May 6.
The series revolves around a group of teenage girls who are left stranded on a deserted island after a plane crash, but are unaware they are the subjects of a social experiment. According to a synopsis, Season 2 «ups the drama and keeps you guessing, with the introduction of more test subjects--a new island of teenage boys--who must also fight for survival under the watchful eye of the experiment's puppet master.» Check out the new trailer below.
The Wilds is created by Sarah Streicher (Daredevil, Turning Red), and the series debuted on Prime Video back in 2020. Its sizable ensemble cast includes Sophia Ali (Grey's Anatomy), Jenna Clause (The Furies Inside Me), Reign Edwards (The Bold and the Beautiful), Helena Howard (Madeline's Madeline), Erana James (Lucy Lewis Can't Lose), David Sullivan (Big Love), Troy Winbush (Tyler Perry's House of Payne), Rachel Griffiths (Hacksaw Ridge), and Aidan Laprete (Alexa & Katie).
Executive producer Amy B. Harris told Variety in 2020 that although the show seems bleak, it's really about hope: «If you just put down your phones for five seconds and actually talk to someone else, you will see you actually have more similarities than differences. And their greatest similarity is the desire to survive.»
