A May 9 release date for Crow Country has been confirmed for the PS5 and PC. Fans of horror games, especially popular franchises like Resident Evil, may want to check out this game coming to PS5. Crow Country was created by SBF Games, a British indie developer company comprised of two brothers, Tom and Adam Vian. Switch gamers may recognize SBF games for one of the system's launch titles, Snipperclips. SBF's collection of games offers variety in tone and style, and this new entry will continue the studio's tendency to offer something different.

Crow Country was announced last October. The game offers a unique visual style evocative of classic PS1 entries like Resident Evil or Final Fantasy 7. This is the studio's intention — Adam Vian mentions those two games when describing the design. Set in 1990, which is also the decade that those classic games were released, the premise is that Mara Forest seeks out Edward Crow after the sudden and mysterious closure of his theme park. When she arrives in rural Atlanta chasing the little information she has, things get even stranger.

In a new trailer that showcases more gameplay, it is announced that Crow Country is expected to release on May 9 on Steam and PS5. The game is a strong pitch towards fans of the 90s horror gaming aesthetic, and it appears to incorporate genre staples within the gameplay as well, such as puzzle solving, health and resource management, and being forced to stand still while shooting enemies.

Many fans enjoyed the demo, which was released on Steam and PlayStation as a part of Steam Next Fest. Plenty of other indie game developers released Steam Next Fest demos, which has got the community excited about upcoming releases, and among that crowd, Crow Country seems to have found a proper niche.
