The near future is looking pretty exciting for horror fans, with details about Resident Evil Village DLC rumored to be on the horizon, as well the remake of Dead Space due out next summer. Speaking of the latter, a former Dead Space developer Glen Schofield's new horror game called The Callisto Protocol, which is being created by Striking Distance Studios. Given that the Schofield's name, who used to work at Visceral Games, is attached to this new project, many are excited to see how it will turn out. In the meantime, some new screenshots have been circulating.
In a post on Twitter, user Idle Sloth, courtesy of Game Informer's Digital Issue, has uploaded a number of images from The Callisto Protocol, which are giving a lot of people some serious Dead Space vibes. Much like Schofield's most notorious work, this upcoming horror game will lean towards the more sci-fi aspects of the genre, and what will likely a return to some lovely gory body horror. The screenshots show a number of grotesque monsters, as well as some of the game's locales.

It wasn't that long ago that Schofield unveiled a rather horrifying image from Callisto Protocol, specifically a close-up of one of the monstrous creatures. There was also a message in the tweet that said there would be more news to follow, which is likely in relation to these new screenshots that have been doing the rounds lately. In general, it's looking like a pretty intense and interesting horror game, with some saying that it's almost like it will be a spiritual successor to the first Dead Space entry.
