For some members of the gaming community, it may seem like the days of every major company cramming in their big announcements on E3 weekend are becoming a thing of the past. With Xbox and Bethesda Game Showcases, PlayStation State of Play events, and Nintendo Direct presentations, the three major platform owners each have their own way to inform their fans about upcoming games, new content, and updates for their favorite titles. Now, a new Nintendo Direct is on the way, except rather than having a general focus, the latest presentation will have one game in mind.
Previously, it had been believed that Nintendo would have a Direct lined up for the end of June. Despite having an Indie Showcase in May, Nintendo was notably absent around the time of Summer Games Fest. However, before the end of June, it seems that a Nintendo Direct will happen, except rather than showcase a multitude of games, the latest presentation set for June 22 will entirely revolve around the upcoming release of Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the highly anticipated sequel to 2017's Xenoblade Chronicles 2. Set after the events of its predecessor, Xenoblade Chronicles 3 features a story focusing on two nations that are at war with each other. These nations, known as Keves and Agnus, will each have their own protagonist for the player to take control of. Once expected in Fall 2022, the release date for Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was pushed forwards to July. With just over a month before the release of the game, it seems Nintendo is giving players one more in-depth look at Xenoblade Chronicles 3 before it launches.
