Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, an indoor roller coaster, will make its debut at Epcot on May 27. Disney Parks announced the big news via Twitter and also with a trailer on YouTube.
According to a release, the «massive» coaster is themed around the Guardians of the Galaxy needing your help to «save humanity on an amazing journey across space and time… Get ready to rewind, rotate, and head toward the action through an exciting space pursuit.» Disney also says this is «one of the largest fully enclosed coasters in the world, featuring the first reverse launch on any Disney coaster.» Check out the trailer below and get in the mood.
Cosmic Rewind will be the third coaster to open in the metro Orlando area in the past year, according to the Orlando Sentinel. The Guardians Of The Galaxy-themed coaster comes after Jurassic World VelociCoaster at Universal's Islands of Adventure last summer and Ice Breaker at SeaWorld Orlando last month. Disney is also constructing a Tron-themed coaster for Magic Kingdom, though no opening date has yet been announced.
If you can't wait for May 27 to roll around, Disney+ has a series titled Behind the Attraction. The show looks at the complicated and long history of creating Disney's most iconic rides and experiences at its theme parks around the world. And if theme rides aren't enough, Disney has also recently announced it's planning to build branded, master-planned communities for fans who don't want to just visit Disneyland--but live within the magic and inspiration behind the content.
