A recent Genshin Impact livestream details the upcoming Version 2.6, and a new event seems to tease the unseen Sumeru region. The action role-playing game lets players explore the vast fantasy world of Teyvat, which is separated into various different nations. While the area has only been mentioned in lore, many fans expect that Genshin Impact 3.0 will add Sumeru as a fully-explorable new area.
Genshin Impact's various nations are all distinct, and they are each associated with one of the game's seven powerful elements. The ARPG launched with just two regions, Mondstadt and Liyue, which players have explored since the title launched in 2020. Version 2.0 saw the addition of Inazuma, a lush archipelagic nation associated with the Electro element and the deity Raiden. This pattern has led many Genshin Impact fans to assume that new nations will be added with each full update, meaning the next new region will arrive with Version 3.0. Rumors suggest that Version 3.0, which should arrive over the summer, will bring with it the Sumeru region and Dendro element for players to discover.

While the mysterious region is still far from release, the Genshin Impact Version 2.6 trailer does contain an exciting Sumeru tease. The update will bring with it a host of new content, but the Spices From the West event is perhaps the most interesting. The event will involve a lady from Sumeru traveling to the land of Liyue in order to study exotic spices, and players can offer her aid to earn "fine rewards." The appearance of this Sumeru resident and the event's focus on nature both seem to hint at Sumeru's growing importance to the story of Genshin Impact.
