Blizzard has announced two new gear trading restrictions coming in Patch 9.2 regarding Tier Gear and Legendaries.
New Trading Restrictions in Patch 9.2In today's updated Patch notes, Blizzard added two new lines about gear trading in Patch 9.2.
Blizzard The following trading restrictions have been applied:Legendary equipment no longer contributes to unlocking the highest item level for that item slot for trading. Class set items cannot be traded until after earning a soulbound set item of equivalent or higher item level in the item slot. What do this changes mean?
The Legendary change means that you can't craft an Item Level 291 legendary in every slot when it unlocks and be able to trade any item in the game (except trinkets and weapons). The Tier set change essentially ensures that players are only able to trade tier once they have tier in that slot already.Essentially, these changes seem to be targeted at preventing a piece of gear that is a very large upgrade for a player being traded away.
