A 10-minute gameplay demo of The Last of Us Part 1 shows off the PlayStation 5 remake's graphical and mechanical changes. The post-apocalyptic adventure, released back in 2013, sees survivor duo Joel and Ellie find their humanity while exploring the ruins of America. The Last of Us PS5 remake was first announced back in June, and fans have now been given a closer look at the game's latest rerelease.
When it first launched The Last of Us set a gold standard for graphics and animation, but 2020's The Last of Us Part 2 managed to exceed the first game's presentation. With The Last of Us Part 1 Naughty Dog is trying to bring the series' first installment up to the second game's standards by rebuilding its post-apocalyptic world, crafting more realistic character models and implementing several gameplay adjustments. The project will serve as the definitive edition of Joel and Ellie's cross-country adventure, with the game's emotional story being left completely intact. While a recent Last of Us remake gameplay leak suggested that combat remains largely unchanged, Naughty Dog has now officially revealed the adjustments made for The Last of Us Part 1.
