Netflix has released a first look teaser for Season 2 of Warrior Nun, as part of Geeked Week. Warrior Nun is a manga-inspired series, following a woman who wakes up in a morgue to discover she's now part of an ancient order of demon hunters.
The teaser clip largely functions as a recap of Season 1 from 2020, which fans may be forgiven for being a bit fuzzy on today. Check out the newly-released clip below.
Based on Warrior Nun Areala, a comic-book character created by artist Ben Dunn back in 1993, the series didn't come to Netflix until July two years ago--though it was quickly renewed for Season 2. Created and adapted by Simon Barry (Val Helsing, Ghost Wars), the show's centerpieces are religious figures engaged in epic battles and an orphaned teenager shouldering the unimaginable.
The series stars include Alba Baptista in her English-language debut, Thekla Reuten (Lost), Tristán Ulloa (Narcos), Toya Turner (Empire), Kristina Tonteri-Young (Outside the Wire), and Lorena Andrea (Infamous Six).
Season 2 of Warrior Nun is expected to hit Netflix sometime in 2022. Based on the streaming service's recently released schedule of new content of the month, so far it's a safe bet that Warrior Nun is not coming back in June.
