As nears its release, details about the upcoming basketball game have begun to emerge. This time around, Visual Concepts released information regarding the modes, each with some new features that set itself apart from last year’s release.
NBA 2K25’s MyGM mode looks to be getting a pretty substantial update to 2K24’s version of the mode. While players will still be able to take on the role of an NBA General Manager, this year’s iteration will go deeper into the RPG aspect of the mode. Players will now choose a backstory for the created GM, which will determine the created GM’s initial attributes. Here are the attributes players will be able to upgrade, as well as a explanation for each one as listed by Visual Concepts:
Additionally, different Perks will unlock as players level the created GM. Depending on the chosen backstory, unique Perks will be equipped from the start. Then additional Perks will be unlocked at level 4, 8, 12, and 16. Level 12 is a milestone for GMs, as a specific ultimate Perk will unlock depending on the chosen backstory. Once the level cap of 20 is reached, players will be able to choose two more Perks.
At launch, there will be 55 Perks available in MyGM. More will be revealed throughout the year.
NBA 2K25 also introduces the MyGM Building, a space where players can take control of the created GM to accomplish different responsibilities. So, if a staff member wants to have discuss something, players will be able to walk up to staff member and have that conversation in person.
For NBA 2K25’s MyNBA mode, the biggest update is the inclusion of the Steph Era. Honoring Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors, this new era begins during the 2016-2017 NBA season. However, players have the opportunity to rewrite history and play as a different team to put an end to Golden State’s legacy.
