A message on the My Nintendo Store has suggested the service could be down for multiple weeks in some European countries.
As spotted by Nintendo Life, many of the regional variations of the site, including the French, German and Spanish versions (verified by VGC) are currently inaccessible.
They instead display messages that translate to: “The My Nintendo Store is undergoing extended technical maintenance that will last a few weeks.”
Under this, the website reads: “During this time, it will not be possible to place orders or visit the My Nintendo Store. Orders made recently will however be delivered as indicated in the order confirmation emails that have already been sent.
“If you have any questions, please contact our consumer service for further details on the status of your order(s).”
The store is currently working as normal for players in the UK and the US. It’s unclear what changes will be made to the European storefronts, but it comes at a busy time for Nintendo, which has just announced the Bayonetta 3 release date and special edition, as well as a Splatoon-themed Nintendo Switch OLED console.
The My Nintendo Store allows players to purchase exclusive merchandise for all of Nintendo’s largest properties. Special editions of games are often released on the store, although recently scalping has led to fan frustration.
Pre-orders for Xenoblade Chronicles 3’s Special Edition quickly sold out earlier this month in the US and copies are now being sold for more than triple their regular price on eBay.
VGC has contacted Nintendo for additional information on the My Nintendo Store maintenance.
