Warner Bros. Games has offered a fresh look at its upcoming crossover fighting game MultiVersus.
On Tuesday, the publisher released a pro player showcase video focused on 2 vs. 2 gameplay, which is viewable below.
It sees two pro gamers, ApologyMan and Spooky, teaming up with top performing players from the recent MultiVersus closed alpha test, for a best-of-five series featuring Tom & Jerry, Superman, Shaggy and Velma.
Following several leaks, MultiVersus was officially announced in November 2021.
Set for release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One and PC, with full cross-play support, the free-to-play platform fighter is in development at Player First Games.
It features a variety of Warner characters, each offering their own special abilities, and its main focus is 2 vs 2 fighting, but it will also support 1 vs 1 matches and a 4-player free-for-all mode.
Characters confirmed so far include Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Shaggy, Bugs Bunny, Arya Stark, Tom and Jerry, Jake the Dog, Finn the Human, Steven Universe, Garnet, Tasmanian Devil, The Iron Giant, Velma and Reindog (an original fighter).
Following May’s closed alpha, players can now sign up for an open beta set to be held in July.
Players can also register to participate in the MultiVersus 2 vs. 2 tournament at the Evolution Championship Series 2022. The event will take place in Las Vegas from August 5-6 and has a $100,000 prize pool.
