MultiVersus has popped back up in the "Free Games" section of the Epic Games Store, which supports the rumours and fan theories that it could be re-revealed at some point this month.
Every month of 2024 so far has had MultiVersus fans hoping that a re-reveal or announcement was going to happen, especially since we were promised news "in the coming months" back in December. Most of those hopes have led to disappointment after silence from Warner Bros. and Player First Games, but March is starting to look a lot more plausible.
There's a lot of evidence that MultiVersus could be re-revealed in March, from the McDonald's promotion coming to the US this month to the Steam updates that seem to be related to the game, but the biggest bit of evidence might have just dropped. Over on Twitter, reliable insider multiversusie pointed out that the Epic Games Store now shows MultiVersus in the "Free Games" section.
You have to scroll down a fair bit to see MultiVersus, complete with its season two artwork, but it does actually appear on the store after having previously been delisted and made unavailable for purchase. Clicking on the game will lead to a 404 error, so don't go expecting to be able to download it any time soon, but it's clear that something is happening behind the scenes.
It's also worth noting that trying to search for MultiVersus itself on the US store will just lead to a bunch of "Multiverse" DLC for Borderlands 3 and no sign of the game itself. It's not clear why the game is showing up in the Free Games section if it can't even be searched for, but it's an interesting find nonetheless that implies that it's being added back to the store soon.
To play devil's advocate and pour some water on the hype, it's worth noting that it's not actually that clear when the Epic Games Store started showing MultiVersus again.
