Nintendo struck gold with its Super Smash Bros. fighting game series. The concept sees popular video game characters from a variety of franchises duking it out in stages themed after their games and has become extremely popular since the original released for the Nintendo 64. Other companies have followed in Super Smash Bros.' footsteps, like with the Nickelodeon-themed fighter Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl and the smaller-scale Brawlhalla from Ubisoft. Now Warner Bros. is throwing its hat in the ring with MultiVersus, a crossover fighting game that features characters from various WB properties.
MultiVersus was first revealed late last year with a trailer that confirmed just how diverse the game's roster would be. The initial trailer confirmed the likes of Batman, Shaggy from Scooby-Doo, Arya Stark of Game of Thrones fame, and more. And now WB has released a brand-new cinematic trailer for MultiVersus that confirms three more characters for the ever-expanding roster, while also confirming when the open beta is coming.
MultiVersus Reveals Alternate Costumes for Shaggy
As seen in the new MultiVersus cinematic trailer, the Tasmanian Devil from Looney Tunes, The Iron Giant, and Velma from Scooby-Doo are joining the lineup of playable characters. Those interested in trying the game for themselves can try signing up for the MultiVersus closed alpha, taking place from May 19 to May 27, with 15 playable characters available. 16 characters have been revealed so far, and so it seems The Iron Giant is being left out of the closed alpha.
Those who would rather wait for the MultiVersus open beta should note that it's scheduled to start at some point in July. A specific start date for the open beta has not been revealed at the time of this
