Among the Legend of Zelda titles, Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask might be a misfit, but now is the time to revisit its style and story for a sequel. As more games are being brought to the Nintendo Switch, including Majora's Mask, new gamers are able to experience the strangest, darkest entry in the Legend of Zelda franchise for the first time, and lifelong fans are able to experience the nostalgia of returning to Termina. It's time for Nintendo to capitalize on the current popularity of dark fantasy in games and media, and make a Majora's Mask sequel.
Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask follows Link after the events of Ocarina of Time as he searches for Navi. Link's journey takes him to Termina, a land that seems to mirror Hyrule, as emphasized by the number of Ocarina of Time characters reused in Majora's Mask. Link falls into the role of hero once more as he tries to spare Termina from being crushed by the moon in three days' time. While Link has the ability to manipulate time with his ocarina in order to stop the moon, the number of people in Termina who need his help makes it impossible for him to solve every problem within one three-day cycle.

Majora's Mask is a dark game, especially for the Legend of Zelda franchise. Even if the player completes every side quest, having to rewind back to the first day means that, story-wise, not every resident of Termina will have a happy ending.
