Wizards of the Coast has revealed that there will be a special surprise in the upcoming Dominaria United set for Magic: The Gathering, as the Collector Boosters will contain cards from the Legends set from '94. The 30th anniversary of Magic: The Gathering is fast approaching, and one of the 2022 Magic: The Gathering sets is taking the story back to where it started as Dominaria, the plane where many early storylines took place, is coming back in Dominaria United.
The earliest Magic: The Gathering sets in '93 are among the most infamous in the history of the game, as they contain some incredibly rare cards that still command high prices, as well as the Power Nine, which are still among the most powerful cards in the game, and are banned in most formats. The Legends set arrived in '94, introducing the concept of Legendary creatures (albeit, in a different form), as well as being the first set to include multicolored cards. The concepts introduced in Legends would go on to become a major part of the game and their importance to the history of Magic: The Gathering cannot be understated.

The modern Magic: The Gathering fans will soon have the chance to see cards from the Legends set firsthand. A new blog post from Magic: The Gathering has announced that the Collector Boosters for the upcoming Dominaria United set will feature cards from Legends. This is because Wizards of the Coast discovered unopened cases of Legends booster packs in an abandoned warehouse in Washington state. These packs were carefully opened by Wizards of the Coast staff members, and they recorded the whole process, which was discussed on the Magic: The Gathering YouTube
