Motorola gets to do a record in India this year – a 200MP camera phone! Motorola had earlier announced its first 200MP camera phone in China a month ago and now, it is bringing the same to India. It will be called the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra and ends up being the highest end phone from the company in India, edging out the Edge 30 Pro launches earlier this year. Along with the Edge 30 Ultra, Motorola is also announcing the Edge 30 Fusion in India and this time, the Fusion is a flagship killer devices rather than an affordable budget Android phone.
The Edge 30 Ultra and Edge 30 Fusion smartphones are launching in India on September 13 and Motorola will sell these phones via Flipkart. Motorola is yet to announce the prices for these smartphones but based on the known specs, it seems these phones could be priced competitively with recently announce Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 phones. The Edge 30 Fusion could could replace the Edge 20 Pro from last year.
The Edge 30 Ultra will garner a lot of interest of one of its features – a 200MP camera sensor. This is the first smartphone in the world to use a 200MP camera sensor for the main camera. This will be accompanied by a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 12MP portrait camera. Being the ultimate Motorola flagship, the Edge 30 Ultra also gets a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, which promises superior power efficiency and slight performance boosts.
The Ultra settles for a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED display with a refresh rate of 144Hz and curved edges on the side. Motorola is using Gorilla Glass 5 for protection at the front. This also gets to use Motorola's fastest 125W wired fast charging along with wireless charging. The phone boots Android 12 out of the box.
