The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta will be available to PlayStation owners first, Activision has confirmed.
Modern Warfare 2 is released on October 28, but beta access will be available a month before this.
There will be an Open Beta which will be be available to all players on all formats, while those who pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2 getting an extra period of early access.
However, PlayStation owners will have access to the beta for two weekends, whereas Xbox and PC owners will only get it for the second weekend.
According to Activision, the beta will be available on the following dates:

While the first beta weekend (September 16-20) will be exclusive to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, the second weekend (September 22-26) will be available to all players.
Crossplay will be active during the second weekend, meaning PlayStation, Xbox and PC players will all be able to play each other regardless of which platform they’re using.
According to Activision, the beta will feature a “robust multiplayer experience going beyond the Core 6v6 experience” and will offer a variety of maps and modes.
By playing the beta, players will be earn a number of in-game rewards which will be available in the main Modern Warfare II game at launch.
More details on the beta will be revealed at Call of Duty: Next, a special broadcast taking place on September 15 which will give new information on Modern Warfare II, Warzone and the mobile version of Warzone.
