Ariel Winter will step in to replace Demi Lovato as the lead in NBC's new multi-camera comedy series Hungry. Winter is most notably known for her role as Alex Dunphy in the smash hit series Modern Family, where the actress and her co-stars racked up four Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series. Winter broke into the acting game by landing a Cool Whip commercial at the age of four. Subsequently, the talented actress voiced the titular character in Disney Junior's Sophia the First as well as Penny Peterson in 2014's animated Mr. Peabody and Sherman. Winter's credits also include roles in 2008'sSpeed Racer, 2005's Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and the leading role in The Chaperone, in which she was nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture at the Young Artist Awards in 2012.
As reported by Deadline, Ariel Winter will replace Demi Lovato as the lead role in NBC's new multi-camera comedy series Hungry. Given Lovato's last-minute departure from the role, NBC elected to go with a quick recasting in hopes to maintain the pilot episode's production schedule. All signs are pointing to a successful decision, as Winter is fully onboard and joining the rest of the cast as production moves ahead without missing a beat.
