Programs in MLB The Show 23 can be best compared to Battle Passes in popular games like Fortnite and Apex Legends. There will be many different Programs introduced over the course of the game's lifespan, each with different Tasks and Rewards. While Programs predominantly give away items for Diamond Dynasty, it's possible to advance your progress whichever mode you play.
Every Program in MLB The Show 23 is free to complete and you will advance your progress as long as you're fulfilling the requirements. Do remember that you will need to be connected to the Internet to progress Programs, though.
The main Program in MLB The Show 23 is seasonal, and will rotate every two or so months. In the this Program, you're rewarded for playing matches by earning XP, which in turn increases your progress.
