San Diego Studio announced Game Update 3 for MLB The Show 22 on April 13, highlighting fixes to several gameplay mechanics and problems in various modes. It marks the third major patch since launch, with the Game Update 2 addressing multiple issues back on April 4.
In the developer notes for Game Update 3, fixes are being implemented to several modes, including Road To The Show, Franchise, and March To October. MLB The Show 22 has been plagued with problems since its launch, and it appears the developer is making an effort to address as many of the issues as possible.

In terms of general gameplay, several bugs have been addressed relating to the game freezing in situations where a ball lands in foul territory or when the umpire freezes after the ball reaches home plate. An earlier patch released in MLB The Show 22 gave starting and relief pitchers more stamina control while playing in three-inning games, and in Game Update 3, an additional change gives players a notice when a pitcher is at, or below, 25 percent stamina. The change allows players to properly strategize when to start warming up some pitchers in the bullpen in preparation for a change-up.
The Mini Seasons aspect of the game received several fixes to the bugs that have plagued the mode since release. Players can now experience less crashing when entering matches, logos featured in-game will no longer show incorrect ones unrelated to the two teams playing, and more unannounced minor problems are also addressed.
