Players have responded to the recent announcement of Angry Birds crossover DLC in Minecraft with mixed opinions. Of course, this is far from the first time that Mojang Studios' hit title has added another brand to its sandbox adventure. Minecraft received How to Train Your Dragon DLC in early 2021, for example. Later that same year, the ever-popular sandbox game welcomed Ben 10-inspired content. Minecraft also hosted a Walt Disney collaboration in late 2021 that featured familiar faces from Disney and Pixar films alongside iconic amusement park attractions.
Since its initial release well over a decade ago, Minecraft has continuously evolved. Baked-in creation tools that once seemed simple on the surface allow players to create entire cities, functional contraptions, and smaller games within the existing game. Even the terrain recently received a massive overhaul, thanks to Mojang Studios' November 2021 rollout of Patch 1.18, otherwise known as Minecraft's Caves & Cliffs Part II. But between the larger, world-changing updates, Mojang and its partners also make time for smaller content releases, some of which occasionally includes crossover DLC with other brands.

Yesterday, May 18, Mojang Studios added Angry Birds DLC to the Minecraft Marketplace. The new content invites players to assume the role of Red as the angry bird attempts to rescue several friends, all of whom were kidnapped, or birdnapped, by mischievous pigs. Notably, the rescue mission tasks users with navigating Cobalt Plateau, traversing the perilous Piggy Junkyard, surviving Summer Madness, and infiltrating Pig City to help Red's allies escape.
