Miles Teller reacts to his grandmother pitching him as the next James Bond. Teller has appeared in films like Whiplash and the Divergent franchise but is now best known for his role as Rooster in Top Gun: Maverick. Teller will also be known to many audiences for his roles in the likes of Spiderhead and The Offer, a series that chronicles the making of The Godfather. Next, Teller is slated to voice a character in The Ark and the Aardvark, an animated adventure film from director John Stevenson.
Teller's appearance in Top Gun: Maverick comes about 6 months after a major milestone in the Bond franchise. Last fall, with the release of No Time To Die, Daniel Craig bid farewell to the role of 007 after first playing the character in 2006's Casino Royale. The film proved popular with both audiences and critics, with many praising the film's bold choice to kill off Craig's Bond in No Time To Die's final moments. With the future of the franchise now very much up in the air, Teller's grandma recently took to Twitter to campaign for her grandson to take up the mantle of the iconic British superspy, citing his "talent, looks, strength," and his "worldwide appeal."
