Newly-announced publisher Midwest Games has scored $3 million in funding.
The venture has landed this investment in a funding round led by VC outfit TitletownTech, a partnership between Microsoft and the Green Bay Packers. Other investors included Tundra Angels, Brightstar Wisconsin, and Wisconsin Investment Partners.
Midwest was founded by Netflix vet Ben Kvalo in August of this year.
“At Midwest Games, we are dedicated to bridging the gap and creating opportunities for underserved communities in the games industry," he said.
"As we continue to emphasise, great games come from anywhere, and we are deeply committed to empowering regions like the Midwest.
“Our partnership with TitletownTech and the support of our investors, including Erin Ashley Simon, and myriad local backers, strengthen our resolve to break down barriers to entry and provide access to a diverse range of talent. We believe that games are a universal language, a great equaliser, and through our efforts, we are shaping a more inclusive and vibrant games ecosystem.”
