Meta's Ray-Ban Stories hit shelves in Austria, Belgium, and Spain this week, with plans for more colors, longer video recordings, and a French debut next month.
The smart glasses launched in the US last autumn, featuring open-ear speakers and dual cameras housed inside your choice of three frame styles in five colors (glossy or matte black, blue, brown, or olive).
Starting in early April, though, customers will be able to select from four new color and Transitions lens combinations—including black Round or Wayfarer frames with gray or brown lenses—bringing the total number of variations to 28. Visit Ray-Ban's Instagram Shop to virtually try on different options before buying.
New and existing wearers will soon be able to benefit from a software update that increases video recording time from 30 seconds to 60 seconds, adjustable in the Facebook View app starting in April.
Also arriving this year: voice commands in French and Italian, and the option to make phone calls, send messages, and hear text readouts using your voice via Messenger, as well as control media playing on your glasses. Meta, meanwhile, is rolling out a marketing campaign across Europe to raise awareness about using smart glasses in public places and around minors.
