Why did the casting of Max Minghella in The Social Network cause such controversy? Director David Fincher and writer Andrew Sorkin’s semi-biographical dramatization of the founding of Facebook was showered with critical acclaim in 2010 and went on to claim a host of awards, including several Best Adapted Screenplay wins for Sorkin. Even the movie’s smaller roles – like Rooney Mara as Zuckerberg’s fictional girlfriend Erica Albright or Justin Timberlake as Napster co-founder Sean Parker – are perfectly cast.
