Composer Michael Giacchino confirmed that he is set to direct the upcoming Disney+ Halloween special, Marvel's Werewolf By Night. The special is an adaptation of the Marvel comic of the same name, and the series best known for first introducing the character of Moon Knight. Werewolf By Night follows Jack Russell (played by Gael García Bernal), a werewolf who uses his lycanthropic abilities to fight crime. The Werewolf By Night special is currently in production, and is set to be released in October 2022.
Speaking with Screen Rant to promote Lightyear (in theaters June 17), Giacchino confirmed that he will be directing the special, and that while the production process has been gruelling, it has also been incredibly fun. The director said that he isn't able to share many details of the show, which is common when it comes the intense secrecy surrounding upcoming Marvel projects. However, Giacchino did tease that more details about Werewolf By Night are coming soon. Read his full comment below:

Though Giacchino has directed short films in the past, Werewolf By Night marks his debut in directing a major streaming project.
