In Marvel Comics, Iron Man's attempt to kill the Hulk only ended up creating a greater, possibly more dangerous monster out of another Avenger. When Marvel's multiverse hopping heroes the Exiles end up on an Earth ruled by President-for-Life Tony Stark, they learned that when Stark managed to kill Bruce Banner, he accidentally created another Hulk in the form of Simon Williams, the former Avenger called Wonder Man.
The Exiles are a team that travels the multiverse to fix problems. They've encountered many different realities, such as one wher Charles Xavier turns evil, and one where The Amazing Spider-Man's lizard plot was actually successful. When the leader of the Exiles' rival team, Weapon X, Sabretooth defected to join the Exiles, a version of Gambit filled the vacancy as Weapon X continued to protect the multiverse by any means necessary. They ended up on Earth-4277 where Tony Stark had manipulated events politically, economically, and globally to become “Emperor of the Planet”, the world’s sole authority with dwindling superhuman resistance that hadn’t been eliminated by Stark already. This Iron Man wearing Doctor Doom’s cloak was currently engaged in a war between Black Bolt and the Inhumans which Weapon X had arrived to help him win.

In Exiles #24 by Judd Winick and Kev Walker, President Stark needs to get rid of the unbreakable barrier surrounding the Inhumans and Weapon X reveals the key to unlocking it was entrusted to this world’s version of Simon Williams.
