Marvel's upcoming Disney+ series Ironheart adds several members to its cast and officially begins filming. Ironheart, aka Riri Williams, was created in 2016 by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Mike Deodato, with Eve Ewing and Kevin Libranda later redesigning the character. Ironheart is set to debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the upcoming film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Now Deadline reports that Judas and the Black Messiah star Dominique Thorne will be portraying Riri Williams, who is the inventor of the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man. Good Girls alumn Manny Montana will be featured as a series regular opposite Thorne alongside In the Heights star Anthony Ramos and This Is Us alum Lyric Ross. The series will be directed by Sam Bailey (Dear White People) and Angela Barnes (Gillian in Georgia)who will collaborate with head writer Chinaka Hodge (Snowpiercer). Hodge also serves as an executive producer alongside Black Panther's Ryan Coogler.
Details regarding Montana's, Ramos', and Ross' roles are currently being kept under wraps, but the talent on display is encouraging. The incredible cast, along with Coogler taking on a production role and Hodge's deft writing abilities, as evidenced by Snowpiercer, sets up an exciting new series from Marvel. Viewers will have to pay attention for further details regarding the characters that will appear alongside Riri Williams as production on Ironheart continues.
