Patch 2.4 is coming to Marvel's Avengers, and the upcoming update will overhaul the way events and rewards are handled. Crystal Dynamics' mighty multiplayer game was poorly received at launch, and ongoing attempts to fix the experience and rebuild its playerbase have so far failed. Many fans feel that the end of Marvel's Avengers is near, but Crystal Dynamics is still making an admirable effort to improve the superhero slugfest.
While many players praised the title's story and each hero's unique abilities, Marvel's Avengers has been continually criticized for its technical issues, microtransactions and lack of meaningful endgame content. In an attempt to create an enticing gameplay loop Crystal Dynamics has introduced a handful of timed events, like Red Room Takeover and Corrupted Vibranium, but these frequently-rotating mission chains fail to deliver subsequent variety or unique gameplay. The last piece of truly original Marvel's Avengers content dropped back in November 2021, with the update adding the Klaw Raid and bringing Spider-Man to PlayStation consoles. Recently the future of Crystal Dynamics andMarvel's Avengers was made even more questionable, with publisher Square Enix selling the developer to holding company Embracer Group in early May.
