M4 Pro Estimated Multi-Core Results Place It On Top Of The M3 Max & M2 Ultra, Making It The Fastest Apple Silicon Made To-Date
Apple announced the M4 Pro yesterday, along with the top-end version of the revamped Mac mini, which is now much smaller than its previous-generation models but packs incredible firepower thanks to the chipset upgrade. With up to a 14-core CPU and 20-core GPU, anyone who gets a hand on this portable powerhouse should experience an incredible burst of multi-core performance, with the first unofficial results that the SoC outperforming both the M3 Max and M2 Ultra, becoming the fastest Apple Silicon to-date.
Compared to its direct predecessor, the M3 Pro, the estimated multi-core results of the M4 Pro show a massive 41 percent performance delta
Apple will likely stick with the same clock speed for every M4 version, meaning that even the M4 Pro is expected to operate at 4.41GHz. When it comes to Geekbench 6’s single-core scores, the differences might be negligible, and since we already reported about the leaked M4 MacBook Pro results a while back, we have an idea of how much performance the M4 Pro would bring to the table. As for the multi-core category, those figures are still kept in the dark, but YouTuber Luke Miani has introduced some estimated numbers for us to peruse.

The M4 Pro obtains 22,062 points in Geekbench 6’s estimated multi-core score, with the M3 Max securing 21,045. We will have to agree with the YouTuber’s calculations because the M3 Max’s multi-core results were compared against the M2 Ultra in November of last year, with the latter obtaining a score of 21,292 for the 24-core CPU variant and the M3 Max beating the workstation silicon with 21,890 points. The estimated Geekbench 6 scores are within the margin of error, so it is likely that the M4 Pro will achieve around the same result, which is an incredible feat.
