We finally have a name for Amazon's long-awaited Lord of the Rings TV show - The Rings of Power. This comes alongside a teaser trailer, also giving us a premiere date of September 2, 2022.
The short look at The Rings of Power is about as teaser as teaser trailers get. But the video's description sheds some light on what we can expect from the highly anticipated show.

"This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings", it opens. "[It] will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness."
"Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth".
One of these familiar faces mentioned in the description is likely Galadriel, as we hear her iconic opening dialogue in the trailer. This time, however, she isn't played by Cate Blanchette, but Welsh actress Morfydd Clark (Saint Maud, The Falling).
This is a developing story.
