Legends of Tomorrow will not be back for an eighth season as the showrunner has officially confirmed the Arrowverse drama's end. It has been a different year for viewers of The CW shows, particularly the Arrowverse. Traditionally, The CW has given early renewals to most of their series at the start of each new year, usually around late January/early February. However, 2022 became a different story due to The CW being up for sales as WarnerMedia and Paramount are looking to sell it.
Because of the shake-up with the network, The CW has been late on its renewals and cancelations for the 2022-2023 TV season. For Legends of Tomorrow, the seventh season wrapped its run in March, with a 13-episode run, along with Batwoman season 3. Both Arrowverse dramas ended up landing on the bubble status, meaning there was a chance that either of them could get canceled.
