The rumoured Sony document revealing its upcoming slate of first party PS5 games appears to have leaked and it makes interesting reading.
On Monday the news leaked that Sony is planning a remaster or remake of Horizon Zero Dawn, as well as a live service game based on the series. The story was corroborated by a number of reliable sources, one of which suggested that there was a leaked document floating about featuring a number of ‘announced and unannounced’ Sony projects.
If you were an enterprising troll you’d immediately go away and make one up, and that could be what’s happened here. But if it is all invented the perpetrator hasn’t gone about it in the most obvious way, with no shocking revelations and a number of names that can only be guessed at.
The first thing it does though is confirm the news about Horizon, including DLC for Forbidden West. It lists the Horizon Zero Dawn revamp as a ‘remaster’, although given how interchangeably most of the industry treats that word and ‘remake’ that’s still not a guarantee of what it is.
It’s unclear how old the list is but it does include some already announced games, including Horizon VR game Call Of The Mountain and the recently confirmed PC version of Sackboy: A Big Adventure – as well as the repeatedly leaked PC version of Returnal.
Most of the other games are only referred to as codenames but Ronin by Koei Tecmo is clearly Rise Of The Ronin, which was announced at Sony’s September State of Play.
The vehicle combat game by Lucid Games, codenamed Redstar, is presumably the much rumoured Twisted Metal reboot, although the most recent rumour for that suggested that development had been moved to fellow UK studio Firesprite Games.
