Larian confirmed earlier this week that it won't be working on Baldur's Gate 4, or any expansions for Baldur's Gate 3. Now, fans are wondering if its next game will be another entry in the Divinity series, perhaps even the long-awaited Divinity: Original Sin 3.
This speculation comes from the hints that Larian has dropped about its next game, including the fact that it won't be based on Dungeons & Dragons. This leaves the door open for Larian to return to Divinity, since this is its own IP running on its own RPG system.

At the time, many of us assumed this would be Baldur's Gate 4, but he may have actually been referring to Divinity: Original Sin 3 instead.
In the meantime though, Larian isn't done with Baldur's Gate 3. Vincke has reaffirmed the team's pledge to get more patches out, which will add mod support, cross-platform play, and more cinematics. He's also revealed that new endings for evil characters will be added in the future patch, but outside of that, we should lower our expectations, as the devs are largely done with adding completely new content.
It remains to be seen when Larian will be ready to spill the beans on its next game. Divinity fans have been patient
