The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder is ready to live up to its name when it arrives February 23 on Disney+. A revival of the classic animated Disney Channel animated series, The Proud Family is back for the first time in fifteen years. Rather than showing the kids «all grown up,» though, Louder and Prouder picks up essentially where its predecessor left off and doesn't miss a beat.
14-year old Penny Proud (still voiced by the effervescent Kyla Pratt) and her school friends must contend with puberty and newcomers to their town, all while dodging overbearing parents and trying to exercise their better judgment. Thankfully, Penny can always count on her grandmother Suga Mama (still portrayed by the fabulous Jo Marie Payton) to have her back when the going gets rough.

Kyla, what is it like for you to revisit Penny and bring her 20 years into the future?
Kyla Pratt: It is an absolutely amazing feeling. I never thought it was going to happen. It was something that I filmed when I was 14 and 15 years old. I've always loved it, but I just looked at it like, «Hey, it's over, I guess. I love these people, but I'll see them in passing.»
