Konami Is Interested in Making New Suikoden Games
Developers at Konami are interested in making new Suikoden games, according to an interview at the Tokyo Game Show 2022 convention. The announcement of remasters for both the original Suikoden and Suikoden 2 has triggered some hope in fans of the JRPG franchise that new games in the series could be made in the future. It seems they aren't the only ones hoping that's a realistic possibility, as even some key Konami developers admit they'd like to see more Suikoden games in the future, too.
The Suikoden franchise has been dormant for some time. The most recent release in the series was a PSP game released in 2012 that was never localized for the west. The last main series Suikoden title, Suikoden 5, was released in 2006 on PlayStation 2. Then there's the fact that Konami hasn't shown an interest in developing new games in recent years. Many fans had given up on the possibility of Suikoden coming back, at least until Friday's announcement of the Suikoden and Suikoden 2 remasters.

Some Konami game developers are embracing the excitement around the new announcement and are sharing their feelings about Suikoden's future. Speaking with IGN, Konami producer Yasuo Daikai said directly that he would «really like to keep making more Suikoden games in the future.» He said this in response to a question regarding what the remasters would mean for the Suikoden franchise.
Daikai isn't in any way confirming plans for Konami to continue working on Suikoden going forward. He did have some encouraging words, however.
