One of the best parts of Slime Rancher 2 is meeting the new slime types and learning their quirks. Players looking for Ringtail Slimes will need to venture to Ember Valley. It’s common for first-time players to overlook the Ringtail Slimes the first time they encounter them, if they’re exploring during the day. Ringtail Slimes turn to stone in the sunlight, so if players search for them during the day they will find only statues. At night the Ringtail Slimes turn back into their true selves, allowing the player to catch them.

If the player doesn't feel like waiting until nightfall, they can also pick up a Ringtail Slime statue and bring it into a cave. Once sheltered from the sunlight, the Ringtail Slime will revert to its natural form, and the player will be able to vacuum it up and bring it back to the Observatory. To prevent captive Ringtail Slimes from turning to stone during the day the player will need to upgrade their Corral with a Solar Shield.
