The Battle Tournament in Kirby and the Forgotten Land acts as this game's boss rush mode. Fortunately, players unlock it naturally by progressing through the story. While the Kirby series has dabbled with 3D adventures in the past, the Forbidden Land is the first entry to take the full dive into the third dimension. After a wormhole rips open in Popstar and sucks up its inhabitants, the local Waddle Dee are then captured by monsters. It is now up to Kirby and his new friend Elfilin to rescue them.
When exploring each stage, there is a handful of Waddle Dee to find that are hidden throughout the level. Saving them not only will work towards 100% completion of the game but will also unlock more content in Waddle Dee Town. This brand-new location made its debut in Kirby and the Forbidden Land and acted as a location where players can rest in between levels. There are tons of mini-games and unlockables in this town that will continue to grow the more Waddle Dee the player saves. One of which is the Colosseum.
