While epic RPGs tend to have massive scripts, few have reached the lengths of games like The Witcher 3 or Baldur’s Gate 3, the latter of which currently holds the Guinness record for having the longest script in a game. Developer Warhorse Studios might be looking to challenge this, however, with its upcoming RPG, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
In a post on social media platform X, YouTuber ESO_Danny posted a photo of himself standing next to a giant stack of papers, calling it the entire script for Kingdom Come: Deliverance. ESO_Danny then goes on to say that the sequel will have double the content. According to the post, while the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance sat at 800,000 words in its script, the sequel has 1.7 million words.
“Me next to the entire script of Kingdom Come Deliverance that was printed on double sided paper, 2 pages per side,” posted ESO_Danny. “Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is double the content!”
This post was then followed up by the studio itself revealing that Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 has more than 2.2 million words in its script. Game director Daniel Vávra also responded, saying that it might be the longest script for a game ever, even including Baldur’s Gate 3.
“Actually, it’s over 2.2 million words in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2, Danny,” posted the official X account for Warhorse Studios. “As far as I know its the longest script for the game ever,” responded Vávra. “Including BG3.”
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is slated for release on February 4, and will be coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game will put players in the shoes of Sir Henry, who has set out on a quest for vengeance. The game was announced with a trailer. A follow-up trailer was then released that gave us a look at some of the upcoming title’s brutal combat, one-on-one duels, and even horseback combat.
