At the 2022 Oscars, Kourtney Kardashian became the first of The Kardashians stars to attend the ceremony, and her sister Kim reportedly wishes it was her instead. At the prestigious ceremony, Kourtney appeared dressed in an elegant black gown on the red carpet with her fiance Travis Barker. The Blink 182 drummer performed on stage with a live band providing music during the ceremony, like Shawn Mendes' «Wonder,» before the singer took the stage to present the award for Best Adapted Screenplay. The two later appeared at the Vanity Fair afterparty, joined by Kourtney's sisters Kim, Khloé, and Kendall. Kim posed for cameras in a blue Balenciaga gown and was later seen hanging out with Kendall and her BFF, Hailey Bieber.
While the Kardashian-Jenners are generally supportive of each other — Kim even posted a supportive Instagram story of Kourtney and Travis at the Oscars–the family has also been known to be quite competitive. In the trailer for their new Hulu series, Kris Jenner reveals that both Kendall and Kim are being considered for the cover of American Vogue. Kim, in a sit-down confessional, jokingly confessed that she would have "murdered" her sister for the cover. Luckily for Kendall, Kim was chosen for the March 2022 cover, and no harm was done. However, Kim did not win the opportunity to attend the Oscars, and allegedly she wishes she would have.
