While Kang the Conqueror is chiefly known for his time manipulation, futuristic gadgets, and army of minions plucked from throughout history, past adventures have proved that he also has the physical prowess of a Super Soldier like Captain America, to the extent that normal human physiology can't account for his skill in combat. Evidence can be seen in the climactic battle of The Avengers #54, from Kurt Busiek, Kieron Dwyer, Rick Remender, Tom Smith, and Richard Starkings.
Kang the Conqueror, also known as Nathaniel Richards, is an Avengers and Fantastic Four foe and a fairly enigmatic figure in the Marvel Universe. His origin has shifted over time (often because he wished it so), with hints his lineage includes Doctor Doom and Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic. But regardless of his shifting origins, the central tenet of Kang’s character has remained the same. He is a scientist from the thirty-first century who used time travel to become a conqueror of the past and future.

During the epic 16-part “Kang Dynasty” storyline, Kang destroys the UN and conquers much of the world. Of course, the Avengers fight back, eventually crashing his spaceship and destroying his invading army. The Avengers want to take him down together, but Thor steps in, insisting they help the survivors while Captain America deals with Kang himself. Thanks to the Super Soldier Serum, Captain America is a «peak human» — a term denoting anyone whose body is at the absolute limit of human potential.
