Actor Bryce Dallas Howard recently had her third outing in the Jurassic World franchise this summer and it might have been the most tense of the trilogy. Talking to British lifestyle site Metro, Howard revealed she was asked to lose weight before shooting Jurassic World Dominion.
Howard said that her weight has often been a topic of discussion among studio executives and the conversation came up again before shooting Dominion. She thanks director Colin Trevorrow for turning down the studio's demand.
«On the third movie, it was actually because there were so many women cast, it was something that Colin felt very strongly about in terms of protecting me…because the conversation came up again,» Howard explained.
«He was like, 'there are lots of different kinds of women on this planet and there are lots of different kinds of women in our film' and I got to do so many stunts that wouldn’t have been possible if I had been dieting,» she continued.
This wasn't the only internal battle for Howard when dealing with the studio about this franchise. In addition to the weight loss request, the Mandalorian director also had to deal with being paid less than her co-star Chris Pratt. Reports surfaced back in 2018 that she was making $8 million to Pratt's $10 million for the second entry in the franchise, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Howard confirmed over the summer, that she was being paid considerably less.
Jurassic World Dominion is one of the highest-grossing films of the year, crossing over $1 billion. You can catch it in theaters as well as streaming on Peacock.
