Within the next few months, WWE superstar, Hollywood actor, and Make-A-Wish record holder John Cena could break a wrestling streak that started all the way back in 2002. John Cena has been one of the wrestling industry's top stars for decades now, first appearing on the scene in WWE by confronting Kurt Angle in his debut match. It didn't take long for Cena to enjoy a meteoric rise to the top of the card, becoming the face of WWE and one of the biggest stars in the company's history.
John Cena was pushed as WWE's top star for years, but he has finally stepped away from the company to pursue other ventures. Cena has since starred in a number of films, and most notably, enjoyed a critically-acclaimed performance in the HBO Max series Peacemaker. Cena's busy filmmaking schedule may mean that he will break a wrestling streak that he started when he first showed up in WWE 20 years ago, however.

There are only a few months left in 2022, and if Cena doesn't wrestle between now and then, it will mean the 20-year streak has been broken.
It seems unlikely at this point that John Cena will wrestle a match in WWE this year, so fans shouldn't get their hopes up that he will somehow keep the streak alive. It's possible he will make a one-off appearance on one of the WWE television programs for a quick match to extend the streak, but there's also an outside shot he could be featured at an upcoming WWE premium live event as well.
