Javier Bardem and Nicole Kidman join the star-studded cast of the animated musical feature film Spellbound from Apple and Skydance Animation. Spellbound is set in the magical world of Lumbria and revolves around Ellian, a teenage princess who comes of age using her magical powers to defend her family when the opposing forces of light and darkness threaten to divide her kingdom. The forthcoming film joins an ever-increasing lineup of projects from Apple Original Films and Skydance Animation, on the heels of their first animated feature Luck, which is set to debut on Apple TV+ on August 5.
Now, Apple TV+ announces that Kidman and Bardem are part of the Spellbound movie voice cast. The duo join an ensemble that also includes Rachel Zegler (West Side Story), John Lithgow, Jenifer Lewis, Nathan Lane, André De Shields, and Jordan Fisher. Kidman will be voicing the role of Ellsmere, the kind yet hyper-precise Queen of Lumbria, whereas Bardem will lend his voice to Solon, the boastful yet big-hearted King of Lumbria.

Spellbound will see the Academy Award-winning actors reunite after their Oscar-nominated performances in Aaron Sorkin's 2021 biographical drama Being The Ricardos. Kidman was most recently seen in Robert Eggers' Viking epic The Northman. As for Bardem, Spellbound marks the first of two family-friendly films he is set to feature in this year, as he stars in Sony's Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile. Audiences can tune in to the talented duo's latest collaboration when Spellbound debuts on Apple TV+ in November.
