The MCU reached its peak with Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, which brought together all the superheroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe to fight a common enemy: Gamora's adopted father, Thanos (Josh Brolin). Infinity War saw Thanos fulfilling his plan of wiping out half the universe with the snap of his fingers, and Endgame witnessed the combined efforts of the surviving heroes to bring back those who vanished and later fight Thanos and his armies. As Gamora died in Infinity War when Thanos needed to sacrifice someone he loved to get the Soul Stone, The Gamora seen in Endgame didn’t know the Guardians of the Galaxy and was still willing to work with Thanos but was ultimately convinced by present-day Nebula (Karen Gillen) to betray him.

Still, Gamora didn’t know any of the Guardians, Avengers, or the rest. While everyone else paid their respects at Tony Stark's funeral, Gamora left and her whereabouts are currently unknown. The MCU's 4th phase has had several movies and series on Disney+ since, but while Phase 4 projects have hopped across the multiverse and traveled through time, the MCU is yet to return to the cosmos. With the Guardians confirmed as playing a major part in the next Thor installment, is Gamora in Thor: Love and Thunder, too? There was some hopeful speculation that Gamora's whereabouts could be revealed.
