A recent rumor released that Quaid, an actor known for his appearances in The Boys, Oppenheimer, and Scream, will portray the famous character. This upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe movie would introduce the superhero quartet into the series with WandaVision director Matt Shakman tapped to direct the film.

Quaid recently tweeted a denial of this rumor, saying, “Hello everyone. Nope. Not playing Johnny Storm but hey I’m flattered.” He then shared a link to donate to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, which is currently on strike.

The movie is set to release on May 2, 2025, by Marvel Studios.

One recently rumored actor who has not been debunked is the casting of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning’s Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm/Invisible Woman.
