Itch.io Says “NFTs Are A Scam”
You never know which celebrity or organisation might suddenly decide to get into NFTs. Unfortunately, there's not much you can do about it except voice your concerns about these tokens' questionable nature. It has worked though – Team17 and Troy Baker have reevaluated their decisions and even EA went from calling them "the future of our industry" to "it's not something that we're driving hard on." Indie games platform Itch.io has also made a statement against NTFs – a rather strong one.
"A few have asked about our stance on NFTs: NFTs are a scam," said the platform via Twitter. "If you think they are legitimately useful for anything other than the exploitation of creators, financial scams, and the destruction of the planet the we ask that [you] please reevaluate your life choices"

It's evident that Itch.io is pretty frustrated with the whole NFT scene, as it followed up the tweet 15 minutes later with: "Also fuck any company that says they support creators and also endorses NFTs in any way. They only care about their own profit and the opportunity for wealth above anyone else. Especially given the now easily available discourse concerning the problems of NFTs." And finally concluded the thread with "How can you be so dense?"
That's probably the strongest stand against NFTs we've seen given by an organization.
